Understanding Budget Columns in PRIVV's Budget View

If you're managing capital projects, understanding your budget is everything. PRIVV's Budget View gives you a clear, real-time snapshot of where your dollars are going. Here’s a quick breakdown of what each column means and how to use them:

1. Code + Title
Every line item starts with a budget code and title. This keeps your categories organized and easy to track.

2. Original
This is your baseline. The Original column shows the initial amount budgeted for that specific code.

3. Approved Rev (Approved Revisions)
These are finalized changes to your original budget. Once a budget adjustment is officially approved, it appears here.

4. Pending Rev (Pending Revisions)
These are proposed changes that haven’t been approved yet. It’s your "what-if" column.

5. Current Budget
This is the running total of your budget after including all approved revisions.
Formula: Original + Approved Revisions = Current Budget

6. Committed
The amount already committed through contracts or agreements with vendors. Once a contract is signed, it goes here.

7. Uncommitted
What’s left to allocate. This shows the dollars still available and not yet committed.
Formula: Current Budget - Committed = Uncommitted

8. Invoiced
The amount of committed costs that have already been invoiced. It helps you track what has been billed so far.

9. Funded
Out of the invoiced costs, this is what’s actually been paid to vendors. It shows real cash flow.

10. Exposures
These are potential costs that haven’t been committed yet but may arise. Think of it as early warnings or placeholders.

11. Projected Cost
A forward-looking number that combines what you know and what you anticipate.
Formula: Committed + Exposures = Projected Cost

...

Why It Matters. Understanding these columns helps project teams stay on top of finances, avoid surprises, and make smarter decisions faster. It’s not just about tracking costs. It’s about forecasting, adapting, and staying in control.
